Anaxagoras of Clazomenae (ca. 500-428 B.C.E.) was an important Presocratic natural philosopher and scientist who speculated that in the physical world everything contains a portion of everything else, and postulated the Mind (Nous) as the initiating and governing principle of the universe. In that spirit, Anaxagoras prize is awarded by the MultiSuper conference series to scientists that greatly contributed to understanding the hybridization of different quantum phenomena or systems into a novel and important observable or application – unattainable otherwise.
